【開発環境】

BM社からMac OS X用のC/C++とFortranコンパイラが発売になりました。昨年の8月頃からβ版として配布されていたのですが、ついに正式版が登場したようです。

IBMが開発していますので、当然のことながらPowerPC 970に完全に最適化されており、非常に優秀なコンパイラだという噂です（どなたか使ってみましたか？）。XL C/C++についてのウェブ上の解説を読んでみると、嬉しいことにちゃんとXcodeに対応していると明記されています。ただし、価格や日本からの購入方法がよくわかりません。利用された方は、ぜひMOSADeNに詳しいレポートの提出をお願い致します（笑）。

Apple社のDeveloperサイト内にデベロッパ向けの新しいサイトが3つオープンしました。「Xgrid」については、前号の新居さんの解説や筆者の使用体験談を参考にしてください。

【テクニカルドキュメント】

前回から1月16日の期間中、Apple社のDeveloperサイトに8つのドキュメントが新規登録されました。若干の改訂版も含まれています。「Introduction to Displaying Data in a Data Browser」や「Data Browser Reference」は、Carbon Frameworkのデータブラウザ用APIの解説ドキュメントなのですが、今まではテクニカルノートしか存在していませんでした。正式ドキュメントが出るまで何年かかったことやら...（涙）。

【サンプルソースコード】
